The important things in life

After meeting me for just a few minutes you know the loves of my life are the grand babies, my children, the dog boys, Garry, family, and friends. Not necessarily in that order. Any given day, depending on my mood the order can change; or temporarily be left off my list altogether. That is everyone except the grandchildren. They are always number one in my books.

The grandchildren can brighten my day when I’m down, and make me feel better when I’m sick. They are the best medicine for what ails me; and they don’t come with the bad side effects that medication brings.

When Matthew walks into the room he says I know exactly what you need Grandma, and gives me a big hug and kiss. Jacob always ask how I’m feeling today, followed by a kiss on the cheek. Almost everyday we get a letter from Malia. I love hearing about what’s happening in her world in Georgia. She always ask how am I feeling today, and can not wait until we see each other again. Garrison writes wonderful letters to us also. He is so loving. When he hugs you ,you know he loves you with all his heart. Even though Eric is almost twenty two, he will never be too old to give me a big old squeeze and kiss. (every Sunday after church, his great grandma Tommy would say come on over here Eric and give me a big squeeze. He would go to her and hug and kiss her. She always slipped him a dollar. Due to inflation I wonder how much that hug and kiss would be worth today. Priceless I’m sure.) When KK , Riley, and Jazzy visits from Kansas it is like a booster shot to my heart. They give their love so freely. They also have started writing letters to us. I hope they continue since they will be moving to Hawaii next spring. There is something special about receiving letters written by them.

It is easy to see why those eight grandkids are so dear to me. I have to give credit to where it is due and that is to their parents. My kids, and kid in laws are awesome parents who have taught their children to love and respect their family. That explains why the kids made it on my list.

Now that leaves the dog boys, and my husband Garry. Now who out ranks who. I will have to say it is the one that doesn’t cause me excruciating pain by stepping on my feet, or hitting me with their tails. I bet the tails part gave it away, The winner is my dear sweat husband Garry. He is my rock, that is always there to pick me up when I fall. Lately that has been a full time job for him.

I have the wonderful sisters, brothers, family and friends that makes my world a better place. How fortunate I am to have these people in my daily life.

I recently let God into my life. He was always there waiting patiently for me to simply ask. I am blessed to have His love, along with all my family and friends; what more could I possibly need?
