As I sit in my comfortable air conditioned kitchen, I thank God for giving me another day to see, hear, smell, and feel his love and grace. This morning I opened the door to let the dog boys out and stepped outside on the patio. There I saw the most amazing sun rise peeking out between the tree tops. I heard the birds singing, and squirrels playing on the telephone wires. I saw how the recent rains had added new life to the scorched yards and gardens. I could smell the sweet fragrance of the roses that grow near the deck .

I walked back into the house, and heard Garry softly snoring in the bedroom. Yes, that is a blessed sound ,for it wasn’t long ago when I didn’t know if he was going to make it through the night. I thank God each day for healing him and giving us this time together.

The dog boys are sleeping on the floor in our bedroom. One at the foot of the bed , the other on Garry’s side of the bed. All three are snoring and I’ m not sure who is the loudest. Those dogs are a blessing too. They have brought much love and comfort to us during the past years. They know when we are sick, and won’t leave our sides.

In the guest bedroom, or the self proclaimed Matthews room, is Matt sleeping. He will be eleven in September. It won’t be long before he will be too busy for sleep overs at Grandma’s house. But for now I will count my blessings that he wants to be with us.

These are just a few of the blessing I have received, and I have only been up a few hours. May I always take the time to see, hear, and feel the blessing God gives us each day, and give thanks and praised to Him.
