Dogger and Max

I would like to introduce two members of our family that bring so much love and comfort to our everyday lives our dog boys Dogger and Max. They are six year old labradoodles. Their mother was a yellow lab and their father a party colored standard poodle.

We drove a hundred miles to the breeder in Kansas  to pick out our puppy. I had already decided the pup that came to me first would be the one I picked out. There were four puppies left, three blonds and one big black boy. One of the blonds had curly hair and was so pretty. I was hoping when they let the pups out of the cage the curly would come running to me. The door opened and the big goofy black dog came running as fast as he could. He sat in front of me with those big sad brown eyes waiting for me to pet him. He was such a loving boy. But my eye was on that blond curly one. I knew I could only have one, so I chose the blond.

We paid for him and drove home. All the way home I kept thinking about the black one we left behind. There was something about him that made me want to turn around and bring him home too, but I knew that wasn’t going to happen.

A month had passed and the black puppy kept creeping its way back into my mind. So I called the breeder to see if he had been sold. She said no and if we wanted him she would sell him at a big discount. I knew that was a sign for us to have two dogs. We drove down that weekend to pick him up. The two dog boys were so glad to be reunited again. They have been together ever since.

What a sweet, heart-warming story. Those big, brown, sad eyes were speaking to you. Sounds like you got his message. 🙂
