I Hate Shopping

In my younger and much slimmer day, I loved shopping for clothes. I would pick out a cute outfit in a size 10, and go into the dressing room to try it on. Nine out of ten times it fit perfectly. The only question was did I like it enough to buy, or did I have that much money to spent on an outfit that payday.

Now I hate shopping, let alone trying on the clothes. The main problem is I want the clothes to look like they did when I was a size 10. No matter what I try on nothing looks good on my well rounded size 16.

I tried on a pair of those low rise jeans everyone is wearing. They zipped up fine. The legs weren’t too tight. Butt looked pretty good for and old broad. There was one major problem. My tummy hung over the top of the jeans. I’m told that’s called a muffin top. I think I’ve got about two dozen of those muffins wrapped around my middle. Not a pretty sight. Then there’s underwear. I wear great big white granny panties. My undies are so big I can pull them up to my bra. Picture granny panties with low rise jeans, with a chubby tubby tummy hanging over. Sure makes me want to strut my stuff.

So I’m stuck with old lady clothes. The shapeless wonders that are oh so comfy, but makes me feel exactly like they look…. Old.  They do compliment my granny panties. The waist of the pull on stretch pants goes all the way to my bra. Covers those panties quite well.

I need to shop for a swimsuit. Do you know where I can get one of those swim dresses they wore in the twenties? I wouldn’t even have to shave. Sounds good to me.

Oh Gosh, my dear, I’m feeling your pain. Only I don’t think I was ever a size 10, as you well know. Swimsuit? I have a one piece that stretches from here to Texas, and have worn it for the last 10 years at least. I’m just a freaking fashionista, is what I am. Rock on Sistah.

I’m leaving Wednesday for San Antonio to see the kids. My four year old grandson Garrison asked me to bring a swimsuit so we could go to the pool together. I can’nt dissapoint the grandchildren, so I bought a lovely one piece job that covers as much as possible. I know I’ll have a blast anyway. They don’t care if grandma’s on the lumpy side. LOL Love you my dear friend Mary
