My Bucket List

Since the movie The Bucket List came out, everyone I know has made their own list. I didn’t watch the movie because I can’t stay awake that long. I was told it’s about making a list of everything you want to do before you die. I’m not getting any younger, so I better hurry up and get that list made. Better yet, I need to start accomplishing those things now.

I found writing this list to be much harder than I thought. I have already done most of the things and more than I could ever dream possible. I am blessed with having a loving husband, kids, and grandchildren. I also have a few good friends that will always be there for me. I have traveled all over the world, and took cruises to the Caribbean, Bahamas, and this fall Alaska. Life has been and continues to be real good to me.  Many of the things I wanted, or thought I wanted when I was younger, are no longer important. Time and age certainly changes how we look at things. Here‘s my list of the things I would like to do or accomplish before I die.

  1. Visit New England in the fall.  A perfect day would be a drive in the country side on a cool crisp morning looking at all the different colors of leaves and foliage. Maybe as a bonus I’ll see a few old barns to sketch in the future.
  2. Visit Athens with Garry. I visited Athens for ten days in the seventies with a group of ladies while we were stationed in Turkey. It is a beautiful romantic city, which I would love to experience with him.
  3. Most of all I want those I love to know how much I love, respect, and admire them. They have made me the person I am today….. a happy, almost fifty eight year old wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
