God’s Most Precious Gift Part 3

God has been very good to this little family. The kids grew up and both married within a year of each other. Lorrie married Bruce while we were living in Guam. Larry married his high school sweetheart Laurie. Larry joined the Army and moved to Germany with his wife and new baby Eric. Within a few months they received custody of Laurie’s eleven year old brother Rick.

A few years later Larry got out of the Army and moved into our home. We had been empty nesters for quite a while now. We didn’t know how it was going to work out having four more people in our little house. I have to say those were some the happiest years of our lives.

Garry and I got an extra special bonus having them with us. We were honored to have Rick call us Mom and Dad. Rick was such an awesome kid. In high school he was in football, baseball, basketball, and wrestling. We had a blast going to all his sporting events. We were so proud the night we walked him on the football field on senior appreciation night. When they announce Rick Tabuyo and his parents Garry and Mary Barker, I thought my heart would burst with pride.

Rick is married with three beautiful children. He is an outstanding soldier, husband, father, and son. He has brought so much love into our lives. I thank God everyday for giving me his most precious gift ,three children… Lorrie, Larry, and Rick.

Just lovely! You are indeed blessed, my friend. But, so are your kids for having parents like you and Garry.
    Love ya’s,
